THE SPACE

An assembly of sculptural forms translates the concept for The Space 공간 , a Korean hair salon located at 100AM mall in Singapore.

With the vision to conceive a coherent and confident narrative for the client’s brand The Space 공간, the frontage of the salon defines the gesture of the spatial narrative. Two free standing soft sculptural forms partially conceal the view to the interior, drawing the eye into the spaces between, and inviting customers to enter between the two walls. The atmosphere of the interior is characterised by the composition of spacing and forms, and by means of light, colours and materials, highlighted the relationships between the elements.

In the core of the salon, another free standing volume with a ceiling canopy houses the shampoo space, where it was concealed behind the reception wall. With openings for ambience light to filter in, customers rest in a more private setting to enjoy their hair wash.

The free standing elements, finished in light peach paint texture, provided a natural palette that reinforces the spatial narrative of the context and the brand.
